Rat-1 knock-off with bad axis lock design. I say, just stick with the try'd and true. [amazon.com].

Right! I ordered one of the last deals because I wanted to see what all of these glowing reviews were about a cheap knock off thats made in China. Well, I'm pretty positive that whomever is reviewing these knives gotta be people that have never owned a quality knife, cause these Ganzo knives are pure junk! Spend a few extra $$ and get an American made Kershaw or grab the awesome knife in the Amazon link.
I have never owned a high end knife but I have to agree. Kershaw scallion and leek are both respectable knives for not a lot more than this.

Kershaw 1620FL Scallion Folding Knife with SpeedSafe (Frame Lock) for $28.50 amazon

Yeah, you can insult knife aficionados all you want. But people that have top end knives know that these are a great value. I'm not a fan of Chinese products, but this is a gem.

Not to mention, you can get this on Amazon for cheaper (with G10 handle) and get it in less than a week.

I'm not trying to insult anyone, I'm stating my opinions of the $14 knife that I wasted my money on. I collect knives also, but I certainly would not add any of these knives to my knife collection, cause they hold absolutely NO value, other than maybe the price u paid, if you consider that value. Its OK if you like these knives, but I was just stating that for a little more money you could own a knife that is of better quality overall, and also one that will hold value. I'm certainly not trying to degrade anyone that buys them, just offering my opinion.

Not only are these great for their price, for their price, as you can say that Kershaw has knives much better for only a bit more money. You can say a CRK knife is loads better for a lot more money. That's very subjective. For the price of $14, find me a better knife. There aren't too many. They are also giving newbs a chance at testing a spydiehole or axis lock design before springing for the real deal.

I have two Chinese brand knives with Axis locks. The first, a Sanrenmu, was OK. The second, a Sebenza look-alike, was terrible. The studs (or whatever you call them) are too sharp - it's very uncomfortable to disengage the lock. The Axis is too strong, requiring too much pull effort. And the two sides (mark and pile) of the studs don't stay parallel. Put all those together and it practically requires two hands to close the blade.

I don't mind these Chinese knives. (There's plenty of controversy to do around the industry, including Ontario's use of the RAT name.) I own a few Chinese knives. They're mostly decent and good values. But when you get a dud, like my pseudo-benza, there's not much recourse. You're just stuck with it.

I do miss my RAT-1 I used to own. I'd rather get another RAT-1 or new RAT-2 than this.

This is a decent deal for what it is. But I would never recommend this knife to a friend. I'd tell him to spend a bit more on something else. Or get an Opinel at this price. (Yes, I know it's different.)

Just my opinion.

EDIT: I see an orange handle version on Amazon now for $10.95. I think the wood handle is fugly - like Doug Fir plywood grain pattern.
