Has anyone heard anything about an Android update to 7.1 for Cricket subscribers? I have the Samsung S7 and I know other carriers have just started to release it.

Seem like they will still count the data for video. They only lower the video quality so you use less data

You're correct. I'm glad we can turn it off or on at our discretion.

I have the $70 unlimited plan and I would not want the lower quality video.

That is how I read it also. They will just downgrade the video so it uses less data. Not very helpful.

Why is this a thing if you get unlimited talk time?

Since they are an AT&T MVNO, the updates would come at the same time as AT&T, I believe.

Looks like a try to keep customers while others offer unlimited service (Boost).

Moved my family of 5 to Cricket last year after being floored by my AT&T bill. We rarely even get close to the 3GB data limit for each line. $100 for 5 lines, $95 if I purchase prepay cards with with my Target Red card but on most months, ~$85 since target seems to have 10% off prepay cards almost every month.

Kicking myself for not doing it earlier. Honestly... I can't tell the difference between Cricket and AT&T service.

because some areas have weak cell signals. this is true for my home. I've had to setup my wife's cricket phone to send and receive calls using Google voice because her cell doesn't receive regular calls reliably. The alternate solution would be to install a $400 whole house cell signal booster. I'm glad cricket is finally implementing calls over wifi. Not because of minutes, but because of weak cell signal.

It enables you to make calls when cellular coverage isn't very good if there is WiFi available. It's a good feature to have.

I have the same experience. Love it.
