4K DLP projectors featuring TI's new 4K UHD DLP chip are in the news, especially with the Optoma UHD60 coming to market late in the second quarter at the surprisingly low price of $2,799.

There are also comparison between different 4k proj tech in this article for those interested.

Personally, I think this is a much better deal. Free 2-day shipping, free mount, and no tax for most people. This is a very reputable projector retailer. I have purchased two projectors from them, and will continue to do business with them -Unstable Chimp:

Nice, it might be time for me to jump on this. It looks like this is the cheapest it has ever been. Also, as usual with Epson controlled pricing it's the same across all retailers.

B&H may be the best deal for those that do not get charged tax in NY

Best Buy also has it for those that have rewards stacked up

Lastly, for those with credit cards that offer price protection (Citi, Chase Sapphire, Amex, etc). YMMV getting another $210 off by price matching, post purchase down to CliffsDeals who currently has it at $2289

Just FYI, the price drop might be related to the new 4K DLP chip and the upcoming release of cheaper 4K projectors. http://www.projectorcentral.com/4...ectors.htm

Have the feeling that a 32" Vizio is overpriced for you.

This is pixel shift 4K processing, so less than 4K native, better than 1080p

No, it is 1080p with pixel shift technology to mimic 4k.

True 4k projectors run $10k-30k at the moment, as Sony pretty much has a monopoly on 4k projectors. But that could change soon. TI announced a new 4k DLP chip at CES that could drive prices down. But nothing with the new TI chip is hitting the market until later this year and will be in the $4k range for entry level.

Just want to give people the information, so they can potentially wait a few month and get native 4K projector.
You got a problem?
I think he was just amazed by your ability to gather info like a detective. Don't think he was insulting you. Anyway, nice article you found.

I own this projector and it is fantastic in the right environment. But there is a fatal flaw. HDR only works with one specific Phillips UHD player. There is a huge issue and Epson has not addressed it. Do not buy a Nvidia Shield, Xbox One S, PS4, Chromecast Ultra dn just about any other HDR capable device. That said, I did get the Phillips device and it looks amazing. I just watched Hacksaw Ridge in HDR with Atmos sound and it was one of the best cinematic experiences to date. For those concerned with it being pixel shift 4K, it is barely noticeable side by side with a true UHD Sony projector. I have a 15' screen and see no screen door effect anymore.
