Ok, possibly I'm missing some facts. How is a 90 free trial a deal? That sounds like something that you could get 24 x 7.

Usually it's only 30 days. I use their free lightweight version along with Malwarebytes premium. Meets my needs.

Would this stack with a current subscription, therefore prolonging it?

I rather get a 30 day trial from some other antivirus that is a better antivirus software than risk my computer with BitDefender. A lot of BitDefender customers seems to have a lot of issues with it and even failing on fully covering your computer from preventing viruses, even Macs.

I hope everyone reading these comments knows that 100% of antivirus companies make money capitalizing on fear and using marketing techniques to promote their brands. There is no *good* anti-virus, there is just peace of mind. You are paying for that. If a good hacker wants in your system, nothing will stop them. If you want to surf gnarly pr0n sites without getting backdoored, well, use a script blocker. These A/V softwares will only detect what they know about, so someone who uses a method that isn't popular or detected.... will not be stopped.

I personally do not use anti-virus software, I download software from only trusted suppliers, I use adblocks and I use common sense, zero infections in 10 years.

Norton was great when it ran in DOS. Symantec Corporate edition was nice in 2004. F-Prot was the best. AVG was good for the first 2 years of its existence. McAfee has always been crap, if there is a "removal tool" that exists for an antivirus software, it should not be trusted to keep you safe. The code for a/v bypass has been passed around from generation to generation, by now, the ability of skiddies to remove your protection has got to be automatic.

By purchasing antivirus software, you are contributing to some rich white guy's drug and hooker habit.

Are you just making some generalization based off random complaints or what? BitDefender is consistently rated as one of the top 2 suites every year.
