FYI, this is actually the RC-42 II speaker re-labeled and re-boxed, being sold as the RC-10. The RC-42 II is much higher quality (recent model) than the RC-10 (legacy model out of production). Likely that Klipsch is clearing out stock through Newegg.

I can confirm this personally. The RB-10 speakers are also RB-42 IIs and the RF-10 are RF-42 II.

I didn't buy them personally, but based on the link I posted, they should be RF 42 II. Might as well get a full 5.0 set for less than $400 - these are nice speakers!

+rep to you and the OP. Grabbed a 5.0 set for the living room. Appreciate it, I've been wanting to give Klipsch a go.. I've been a fan of some other lines, but these always seem to have high praise. Now to find a small sub as well.. Something like a SB12-NSD for <$300 would be nice

I have a Polk series for front and rear already. Can I use this Klipsch center or will there any issues? Or should I go for this-Polk Audio New Monitor 15C Two-Way Center Channel Loudspeaker??
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Was looking for new center to replace my 10+ year old JBL. Looks like it is 42 ii, which is awesome. Thanks OP and brklyn for the info.

I'm using 2 / r-14m right now as my center speaker. They are laying sideways together. Or Is it better to have a real center speaker?

42 ii will be sweet at this price but I'm replacing a cheap Phillips center from 2002 so even if only an RC-10 ships it will be a huge improve... just not a slick deal for me. thanks OP.

What would be the rationale for selling them rebadged as something so cheap? I kind of suspect that these parts didn't pass some quality test so they didn't want to mark them as 42 ii but they are probably still well above the original RC-10 so this little stunt isn't screwing customers. no support, just guessing

I would guess that Klipsch simply had excess RC-42 II inventory, rather than quality control issues. The RC-42 II and RC-10 models have both been discontinued (RC-10 discontinued for much longer), although they are still selling the RC-62 II and RC-64 II speakers on their website [klipsch.com]. Maybe they didn't want to undercut the pricing of the other Reference II series models so much. No way to be sure, but the bookshelves/center I got through this deal sound great with my RF-82 II speakers.

Looking to upgrade my Energy Take Classic set with speakers similar in size. Would this RC-10, along side RB-10s for L&R be a noticeable difference ?

RC-10/42 is larger than the Take Classics and will have a bigger sound. plus a brighter sounding speaker which you may like better for home theater dialogue.

Can't wait till it arrives. This will finish off a Klipsch Reference 5.1 setup. Now I just need a powerful (100+ watts channel) Dolby Digital Plus receiver on the cheap.
