In general, I like the systems Microcenter puts together. This one seems to have a good mix of equipment at a reasonable price for a pre-built. You might be able to get a lower price from someplace like cyberpowerpc, particularly when you factor in taxes. However, being able to take the PC in and getting them to fix it if you had an issue has some value as well, so you have to factor that in.

I've only bought one PC from Microcenter, probably 7 years ago and it was solid. The videocard died, they replaced it with a different one they had in stock (turned out to be an upgrade). So, all in all, I was pleased with both the system and the support. However, that was a long time ago, so things could change.

Also, I didn't do a pcpartspicker comparison (swamped with work!), but if you want to check the value, it is pretty easy to put together a sample build to see if you could build one cheaper yourself (and factor in the price drop on the 1080 as well).

Dang this is a beastly build. Still debating if this is worth the price upgrade over:

*Edit: Here is my attempt at PC Part Picker: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DqWTD8 (I chose cheapest parts from the list)
Seems very price comaprable to building it yourself. Looking to pull the trigger and would like to hear more input from people who are better at comps than me. TIA

How fast do they re-sell the open box after someone returns it?
Just wondering what if my friend buys one and does not like it...

That case could be hot pink and bedazzled and I'd still be into it.

Pretty happy with the Powerspec G313 I bought last year but these cases are crap. The only extra fan spot is the side, no way to add any to the front or top. The SD card reader is flakey and keeps disconnecting. The power switch is sticky and doesn't like to pop back out. After the warranty expires I'm moving everything to a new case.

This deal seems gaming proof for years. Tempted too return My HP 15t 1050 2gb (have a weak too decide) and just bomb this or build myself?

I have two crucial mx300 750 gigabyte ssds laying around from Black Friday so that's an expense I wouldn't need
