I spotted this today. I figured someone might be able make use of this if they could duplicate it. Its less than half price and the store I was in Ridgewood, Ny had a couple in stock.

nice find, but nobody ever sold that saw for $950. that's $100 off their normal price. if you wait, it will probably drop more in price. unless it sells out

This is the link to the item. Looks like it is 649 on the site making it 200 dollars off if it's discounted in this store. Looks like there are 2 in stock. Thanks for the post!

I think regular sliding miter saws are hard to utilize because it needs so much room behind it but this looks like you'd get the best of both worlds. And Bosch is a great brand of tools.

Great saw. Don't hesitate if you need one. It is heavy though and dust collection is acceptable. I bought one at my local HD last year for 530. The HD employee told me it was marked down because it was a slow moving product. I guess each week it does not sell they keep lowering the price. I did not want to risk losing it as they only had two in stock and I actually needed it.

i think this saw has some serious limitations to to it's stops and board height it can cut. it's also really heavy. read up some reviews b4 u buy. I ended up with DeWalt after researching it.

They are all heavy, for sure! I have the older version of the glide saw (non-glide, but is 12" SCMS) and its a heavy mofo.

The limitations on cut height seem to be to the right of the blade, because the motor is in the way. A limitation for sure, but you could cut at full height to the left of the blade instead.

The biggest draw for this saw is something no one else has: the ability to give you an extra 12" of clearance *behind* the saw. I can tell you when Im in the middle of a project and have my SCMS setup, its a PITA. Its on a rolling stand (Ridgid MSUV) but I end up with the whole thing in the middle of a room to make sure the rails have enough room to slide. Being able to keep it right up against a wall would be huge, and Im pretty sure DeWalt doesnt have that. I think Makita (and the new Milwaukee cordless) at least keep the rails inboard instead of hanging off the back, but the whole motor head would still need room to slide back and forth.

If I can find this saw at a good price I might consider upgrading. On the flipside, I might not need the 12" capacity anymore (Ive only really used that much cut one time in the many years Ive had the saw)

Layton, UT store has it for $389. They moved it off the shelf to in front of the Pro desk and said they have one more in the back or something.

the extra room behind the saw is great if your saw is stationary, no doubt. Not a feature I need, though I do like to cut tall boards upright.

on another note, I wonder if Bosch is coming out with a new version or HD is getting rid of slow movers. Been seeing a lot of high end Bosch tools going on clearance at HD recently.

The glide saw has been on clearance at HD for a VERY long time, this sale/clearance is nothing new. It seems to be that some stores arent going to carry it anymore so they are on clearance there. Other stores that are expecting to keep it for a while still have it at full price (or close to full, not yellow tagged or on sale). Every store Ive found stock at has it at regula p rice....every store Ive seen that lists it as clearance doesnt have any in stock.

HD seems to have a strange relationship with Bosch tools. Some stores have none, some have a bunch, some stores always seem to be clearing out Bosch stuff.

And true, while Id like the clearance behind the saw, Im not sure its worth the price. I figure I can get 100 or 150 for my current saw pretty easily, so if I could get the glide down around 375-400 it might be worth the upgrade. But I dont see many house/trim projects left in my future (famous last words) to justify a new saw.

The Santa Maria, CA store has it marked $649 with 1 in box and the display. They wouldn't price-match, even after confirming their own web site states that store no longer carries that model. Did offer to knock $50 off. No deal for me. :/

ah, they are 'not sold in stores' on the website. which means all stores will have it clearanced. my store is $389, 10 in stock. not sure if to buy now or wait to see if it drops more before they sell out...

Got one for $389. I'm returning the Dewalt DWS780 still in box that I got for $431. This thing is very heavy. Only thing I. would wish it had is a laser.

No dice in Portsmouth NH, still full price. I may keep my eye on it though. I really want this saw, and this is the lowest price I've seen it.
