55" 4K 55UHDK200 - Fry's Electronics - $279.99 w/daily promo Code - YMMV

Posted 03-08-2017 by MaanavM at 05:57 AM
Fry's has a 55" 4K TV advertised in the daily emails at 279.99. The model that is showing up for me is the 55UHDK200. I can't seem to find any details on it, but at 279.99 it seems like a great deal for a 55".

Need the promo code, and it lists that it's a clearance item in the flyer so YMMV.

Price: 279.99 + tax

i don't know anyone who's willing to take the risk on a TV from an unknown manufacturer with almost no details. the manufacturer's website doesn't even have a 55in model and appears to have last been updated in 2015

Have you ever dated a woman at first you was like, wow she is really pretty and once in the relationship, you was like, wtf did I get myself into?

Well... it like buying this TV...may appear to be a good buy but you will find out how much you hate it and have to live with it.

Sounds like a personal problem. But I do know what you mean. I'm in it now.

I went and got one in the store about a month ago for $299. The first one I got had a shiny light bleed on the side where the power button is. I took it back to the store and had it exchanged, the day before the Super Bowl. Fortunately they have another one in stock. I asked the customer service to let me check it before I took it home. He was nice enough to plug it in and let me look at it. I didn't see any issue and took it home. This is not a smart TV, but the picture quality is good enough for me. My last TV was a Samsung 1080P from 6 years ago. The picture quality is comparable to that Samsung TV. I don't believe I have watched anything in 4K yet, so I can't tell. I have been mainly watching movies/show through the Amazon Firestick and OTA channels.
Overall, I am surprised at the picture quality for such a cheap, unknown brand TV. I have no reliability data to provide as I only have it for a little over a month. It has a generic look, plastic feel, nothing sleek or special about it. The USB port provides enough power to run my Firestick without having to plug into the wall. When I turn it on, I get this gray screen when it is waiting on signal source. I was expecting a black like the Samsung. For the price, I am happy with what I got. If you are into the newest and best thing, it is probably not for you. If you are just looking for a basic, good picture quality TV, and have a Fry's near you, it is a good deal. I am not an TV expert, so my judgement of picture quality may not be the best.
I just want to post this since I couldn't find any review on it when I first made my purchase.

Do yourself a favor. Get out as quick as you can. No need to drag it out and be miserable. So glad I found someone (thing) else I can spend my life with.
