Looks like basically the same deal as at Costco, but with free shipping (Prime, etc) from Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Swift...01MT5YW65/

So now you have a choice -- pay tax on $499 at Amazon, or pay shipping and tax on $579 (pre-sale) at Costco but get the benefit of the Costco extended warranty and whatnot.

In other words, lower all-in price via Amazon but better warranty (and easier return, if you're near a store) thru Costco.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Why thumb down? Seems like a good deal as the one from Costco is slightly more (albeit with longer warranty). I am interested as I am not a Costco member. My main goal is to get a lightweight laptop that is good for Skype, internet, youtube, etc. Preferably 12" to 14" screen size. This seems to check a lot of boxes (8 GB RAM, light weight, good processor, SSD). Am I missing something?

Read the return policy and you may find a reason for TD. The extended warranty will cover for the membership.

To be crystal clear -- to my address in NYS, the difference in price, including shipping is:

$541.24 Amazon
$559.34 Costco

Difference: $18.10 in favor of Amazon. Note, it's more than the shipping cost for reasons explained in the post on the Costco deal. It will be different depending on the tax your state charges. Costco has a better warranty and, depending on where you live, an easier way to return the thing if you don't like it. Whether that's worth the difference depends on your preferences.

And of course, if you don't have a Costco membership, Amazon is a good option to have.

I do not think you have to have a membership to buy this particular laptop from Costco.

Don't forget the $25 off $250 coupon on Costco either. I ordered from Costco a couple weeks ago and didn't know about it. I emailed them a couple days ago to see if my account (Gold Star) was eligible and if I could get the credit applied retroactively. Customer Service approved it and it showed up on my CC statement already.

If I were in the market, this would be exactly the type of machine I'd be looking for. TU.

Everything from this Machine seems legit. 8GB RAM, SSD, 1080p, backlit keyboard, 10 hour battery life.

Seems top notch for $500 almost like an Ultrabook without the price.

In before someone says "no way I'd
pay this much for a processor that's 23 minutes old."

Dead. Was trying to go to my cart, and I get "We're sorry. The item Acer Swift 3, 14" Full HD, 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7200U, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, Windows 10, SF314-51-57CP is no longer available from the seller you selected."

Yeah, that was quick... I was thinking of the Lenovo IdeaPad 710S Plus that has exact same specs, but it's $710 after $240 off. Much rather this for $210 less,
