Actually most of the previous deals were S&S making it cheaper than this. Previously I got the 20lb at this price and with 5 items S&S the final price was 14.01. And for 15lb it was 10.51. If you can wait I am sure you will see this again with S&S.

One of my Costco locations has the organic version of Royal Basmati for $15 per 20 lbs. It's slightly cheaper than the conventional that it's sitting right next to.

Had a bad experience (Amazon). Rice granules were broken and very small. One of the poorest basmati rice I've seen. There are better brands but this deal is kind of slick

More often than not, older the rice, the better.
Reason: The newer the rice, the more starch it produces, and the thicker, fluffier, sticky it gets. But as rice gets older, it produces less starch and is less sticky - preferred in most Indian dishes. Some Indian dishes like Sambar/curd/pongal/dosa/etc. need new rice while daal/biryani/curry/etc need older rice. Infact older rice costs more than newer one.
FYI, I don't recall eating rice older than 5yrs, so that may be your shelf life (as long as you keep it safe from pests).

I paid $10.51 for the 15 lb with 15% S&S so that was still cheaper, just a fyi.

The one I got from Sams was organic version of same brand. Sams was selling 25 lbs for $19.xx and now they sell 20 lbs for $15.xx.

Anyways sams and costco needs club membership. If u are amazon member, this is a nice deal. Definitely $2 to $6 cheaper than most asian grocery store price.
