I do this every year. What I did do is then take the state folder from the one computer (you have to go into c:, Programs, HR block 2016 .... and find the "states" folder) put it on a portable drive and copy and paste it into the "states" folder on the other computer. When it is time to process the states, you will see both states.

Edit: For the less computer savvy user, this is the exact location on the hard drive for the state file on my windows 10 computer:

Windows (C: ), Program Files (X86), HRBLOCK2016, Program, State, (state folder)

If I have two states to file, do I have to purchase two copies of Deluxe + State?

If that is the case, do they sell just the state software (without federal)? Doesn't seem like it...

No, just one copy is sufficient. If you e-file through H&R, you will have to pay them for the e-file of each state

So I can purchase one Deluxe + State, which you are saying I will be able to use to prepare returns for two separate states. Sounds good to me - and if I want to paper file, instead of e-file, then that is free right? Not sure if you know that, but...thanks!

I just went on the H&R Block website and see this about Deluxe

"One personal state program download included — a $39.95 value (State e-file available for $19.95 per return"

So it doesn't seem like you can use it to prepare more than one state....?

So this code is only valid ON 03/18/17, not UNTIL 03/18/17? I tried to use it just now and it came up as invalid.

I installed the software on TWO different computers and downloaded a different state on each PC. Worked just fine for two states..

You cannot process two states with one Deluxe -State unless you pay extra for an additional state which you can do directly through the program.

Really... Don't mean to beat a dead horse but you didn't have any issues with activating the second installed copy of the software, or downloading the second state from their servers with the same license? I've only used taxact online so I'm new to the software.... So I'm a little surprised that it is such an easy workaround to prepare multiple states when they write one state per software.
