Yup, if the apps are in the Google Play Store it'll be fine.

I tried real hard to like my NP for streaming sites such as HBOGo and FandangoNOW (can't get Vudu and many other apps, yes I know they can be sideloaded). Playback quality is poor, momentary freezing, etc. I mean its not terrible but when I go to my Roku and the exact same sites stream perfect why would I use the NP?

Other apps (Crackle) don't even work since it upgraded to Nougat. Seems as if developers have moved on to the Shield and other Android TV devices, leaving the NP behind. Sure if you are technical and want to sideload, etc. its fine but for plug and play the Roku wins imo.

I do use the NP for Kodi but for regular streaming I now go to the Roku.

I don't have any issues with streaming apps, etc...but then again I am not using wifi. Have you ever tried being hard wired in?

No but the Roku and the NP sit side by side, equal distance away from my router. My internet speed of 60 Mbps is more then adequate. And the NP is on the 5GHz band, which should be even better (I have tried it on 2.4 GHz, no difference)

Maybe the apps need to be removed and readded, I know I had to do that to FandangoNOW at least once due to poor performance. I can only go by my own experience, and for those apps I mention the Roku performs better.

I have no issue with Kodi addons and streaming so I am sure it is related to the apps themselves. And it does seem like developers have abandoned the NP so I wonder how long before more apps become not compatible? Crackle is a fairly popular app and for it to not be compatible with the NP seems ridiculous.

I would tell people to go with the mibox before this now.

Performance wise, is it better than the $62 ZTE tablet also from SD now?

I use one that I bought several years ago (at I think $10 cheaper than this actually). It runs Kodi (actually I use SPMC because its designed for Android) and can even play x265 1080p if you make sure to switch it to software decoding for x265.

NIB $30 on ebay. I think that is a sd. $50 probably not with the newer mi box @ $70.
