This is LG's highest end, non-oled TV. Compare to their other models, this one rarely goes on sale.

3D TV's are no longer being made in 2017, but who knows what's gonna happen in 2018 and after. Hollywood continues to produce 3D movies in theaters and 3D blurays continue to command a higher price than 2D. Avatar 2 is in the works. I already have two 3D TV's (LG & Samsung) at home and love them both, so I'm not in the market for one. But if you are, I'd say get this one. Pretty good deal. Should last 4 or more years easily. 3D TV might be making a comeback by then!

Just saw on TV a few days ago James Cameron giving an interview on ABC. He was giving the reporter a tour of the new Avatar theme park at Disneyland. He confirmed he was working on Avatar 2, and incredibly revealed he also got a budget approved for Avatar 3! I can see the project being delayed, but cancelled... I doubt it. Avatar sequel is a huge money maker for Disney/ABC.

Last June $2000 TV -- Been as low as $1399... $100 higher than that deal. For those that cannot wait and need a TV now. I will wait to save at least that $100 if not more... All about getting the best price.

I think this is LG's best before stepping in to oled.
this 65UH9500 probably competes directly with a samsung UN65KS9000.

3D is dead!, support and service are tough to find. A friend has a Sumsung that can't be fixed and Samsung is about to replace it with a 2017 version, but it's not 3D. I have the 55in version of this TV and can tell you that nearly all of the smart features have been discontinued. LG advised that they no longer support the set, so 3rd party vendors also cut their support.

king kong in 3d baby! and you are lying because this tv does not come in 55in. why would samsung give your friend a qled that cost 2500 and up to replace a tv when they still have many in stock from 2016? edit: i take that back because it seams samsung has come out with their new mu series

I think you have your details confused, or you're just making stuff up tbh.

I think 3D is still very alive in the projector world

As for Tv support
Thats is nothing strange. There have been year old Tv's where parts were not available to fix

Thats how they keep lowering the prices...they dont have warehouses of replacement parts available

You best bet is to consider a TV a throw away item these days if it breaks...unless you bought the 4-5 year warranty

I think the Avatar 2 project has been cancelled

What will you do until then, not watch tv? Or do you just have to rewatch everything once you get it?

3D is super dead. In order to get 3D titles, you know have to buy the 4K release of the film and only about 50% of 3D titles are released in 3D. Sony hasn't even made 3D titles for PS4, and it's been out for several years now. They stopped 3D gaming on PS3. All I'm saying is those of use who got in on the ground floor might be happy with the purchase because we should already have established 3D libraries. Those who buy this TV expecting the Aladdin, "Whole New World" experience will be less than impressed. Also, this price isn't special. Best Buy has it for the same price which is $300 less than the non sale price.

Yes or no - this tv supports Dolby Vision as well as HDR10?
If this tv has Dolby Vision & HDR10 + 3D as the thread indicates I would probably strongly consider this tv.
