I don't understand the difference. What is wrong with a reference card?

That blower sucks, and more importantly I need DVI-D port for 3D vision to work on my monitor.

Oh interesting. Is the blower louder or just not as effective? (Or both?)

I am thinking about picking up a 1080ti but quiet is very important to me.

It is not as effective so it has to work harder thus louder.

Founders edition is usually purchased by enthusiasts to MOD with aftermarket coolers. Or for someone not wanting to spend the $ on a strix/already closed loop watercooler.
