Noooo, the processor is a $60 one at most (and that's paying too much!), the graphics card has been on here for ~$30 iirc, and everything else is worth like $150 max. Not a good deal, this thing would barely run games at 720p if that

for perspective, I built a PC for my buddy with the same CPU, R9 280x, and 2tb HDD for $200 (all parts bought second hand). this is a bad bad deal

Looking for a pre-build system, mid-range. $1000 max, not looking for top of the line, something that can built upon, for my young son.

First of all, you need to educate yourself on what is it that you are looking for. You posting this deal and asking whether or not it is good makes me believe you have no idea about PC components let alone what makes one "gamers pc" such as do i go with ryzen or lake? rx480 to gtx1080? liquid or air cooled? etc.
