For those of you ready to smoke meat this spring, or stock your freezer for the summer - Food Lion has Boston Butts on sale for $1.29 / lbs, and Pork Spare Ribs for $1.79/lbs. Best deal I've seen in some time for smoking meat. I've stocked my freezer, and plan on heading back for more this week.

True - I still remember Piggly Wiggly from when I lived in SC. That's a store I miss.

Be very wary of the Kroger Boston Butts. Typically, their pork is from their "Moist n Tender" line which contains up to 12% solution injected. Whenever I buy meat for the smoker, I prefer meat which only has 1 ingredient - the meat itself.

boston butt will hit .99 around labor day and 4th of july .. but spare ribs never below $1.50 but when its not those times of year $1.29 is not a bad price .. i also like the picnic (lower part of the boston butt) when it goes on sale for $.79

Do enough people like to eat the Butt to make Front Page though?

I myself, thumbed up the butt.
