With the new 1080 coming online, the price on this receiver has been plummeting! If you don;t care about Atmos or DTSX, this is a great buy. I picked one up myself.
This receiver usually retails for $399-499.

Brand new one for $399 at Best Buy. Or $398 at amazon.

IMO this is the best sounding receiver at the range it competes in.

Kinda stupid question....but can you use different brand receiver with different brand speakers??? My onkyo receiver just stop working so I am wondering if I can get this and just hook the speakers to this?

I've had this receiver handling my setup -Samsung KS8000 4K content off of blu ray, Xbox one and nvidia shield. Easy set up and sounds amazing. Music isn't as good as my old denon but movies are much better. Polk RTI sides, PSW505 sub, Monitor 70's front and Polk CSI A6 center.

Very highly reviewed and I'm not paying a premium for Atmos speakers so not having it didn't matter.

You just gotta make sure that you do not mix up amps and speakers nationalities. Believe me, you do not want to hook up English speakers with a German AMP

*Most of the time A/V amps are compatible with most speakers but there are a few times they are not....e.g.....2 OHM AMP running a 8 OHM speaker....an underpowered AMP running large speakers.

I am totally gone after you say amps.....have no idea what you are talking at all....LOL.....So I should get this and hook them up and see if I need to return it or not right? or is hooking up the speakers with different amp bad for the speakers or mess up something??? TIA
