a friend of mine works at twc(now owned by charter and rebranded into spectrum) he told me to ask about changing my twc plan to a spectrum plan

i went on live support and went from

paying $60 a month for 50 down 10 up

to paying $65 a month for 100 down and 10 up(see attached photo for what im actually getting some times(its ranging from 86-140 down atm and around 10-20 up) with FREE CABLE MODEM RENTAL(according to my twc employed friend, all spectrum internet plans come with free modem rental)

YMMV though

You got ripped off, its only $30 for new customers last Jan. (6mon promo)
"new customer" meaning you cancel your current acct and reopen it.

My current plan is cheaper and grandfathered. But not as fast.

That tier was not available in my area (Milwaukee), I was paying 75$ for 50 with Time Warner. Was only able to finagle 60 for 65$. Gotta love monopolies.....

Dont do it

It is bait and switch shit......They will tell you you are eligible for blah blah blah rate for 12 months, and then only few months after they pull off their deal, and increase your charge saying what you get is actually bla bla bla off for 12 months COmplaint to FCC & BBB and still give out same bullshit.

Extremely shady company(Spectrum, twc was pretty fair to be honest), do not sign contract with them at all cost.

Time to upgrade man Wink
Are you seeing the same pricing as me in your area?

Edit:
nvm, the internet only option is still $44.99
The new site layout confused me.

...there are new customers deals with internet only at $29.99 for the first year floating around as well if you want to put it the leg work or closing and reopening the account in a different name
Is that price for bundle (internet+phone+tv) only or can you get just the internet for $29.99 per month?

You used to when they first switch from twc to spectrum.
Now its $44.99 internet only (as of 4/10/17)
Hopefully with Fios dropping, cable will follow too.
