Just cancelled my STRDH770 and picked this one up. The STRDH770 only has a 60ms delay all or nothing setting which I think is nuts. This Onkyo like most other receivers offers 0-500ms in 5ms increments offset.

Neither have Dolby Atmos. And the STRDH770 is a 7.2. This is only 5.1

How is the Warranty situation when buying from Jet.com?

I found that Walmart 'matched' ($199) via "Wholesale Connection" so I have no idea what the warranty coverage would be... But I figure Walmart would charge sales tax. Jet.com probably won't??

More importantly for me, will I hear better sound quality (music) with the TX NR656? Spec is incomplete for this receiver (SR353), but appears to be worse compared to NR656.

I can get the NR-656 for $260 + tax from bestbuy open box. or $300 (no tax) from Newegg after giftcard.

Is the delay adjustment only relevant if you have actual 5/7 speaker setup vs 3.1?

How do? Easy to just google "audio delay" or something more specific that explains?

If you've got cheapish monoprice in-wall speakers (in 5.1), what do I get out of Atmos? Honest question, I need to understand.

you won't. you have to have both an atmos receiver and atmos speakers.

If you're looking for studio quality probably not but then I wouldn't shop SD for it either.

Showing $30 off for triple15 in my cart, $170. Then I hit checkout and it shows $0 off for triple15? $200, not sure why the discount goes away on the final step before submitting the order.
