Uniden DFR6 Super Long Range Radar/Laser Detector $175

I've been keeping an eye on this radar detector and this is the lowest price it has ever been from a reputable seller. It is identical to the DFR7, but does not have GPS. Both are very highly rated.

I don't think that's what it is; you have a lot of a-holes around SD that go out of their way to thread crap in radar detector threads because they believe that people shouldn't have or use them. Whatever. I saw a few of these posts the other day in the escort s55 deal thread. I think it's super pathetic going out of one's way to give thumbs down or to post a thread crap for a deal post they have no interest in. I don't really like guns and I have no interest in them. But I'm not going to set up a deal alert for guns and ammo just so I can thread crap any time someone posts a deal on one. Rant over/

Anyway, anyone around here have any real world experience with these uniden detectors? I posted questions in the s55 deal the other day, but the answers/comments didn't really impress me - lots of falses. Sounds like their filtering isnt up to snuff and what's up with random laser alerts (never seen that in a radar detector before)? And it sounds like it only has a range of about a 1/4 mile. I'm currently using a a rad450 which somehow sounds worlds better than the escort. Just looking for something that has a little more range and still has good filtering.

This is a super quiet detector and one that is great with blind spot filtering . It's a great choice if you are just starting off in the hobby or want something that's pretty much filters better than the Max2 Max 360 detectors. On 34.7 Ka band this thing is super hot and can smoke some of the upper level detectors. It's not so great on 35.5 shake head

I would get one if I didn't get max 2 for 270 earlier. Max 2 was annoying at first but now it doesnt false signal as much and GPS feels like a must now. Uniden is overrated as much as Escort. I want a Radenso but those never go on sale.

I find the filtering way better than my S55. I would get a false laster postive all the time with it. Daily almost. My Uniden never goes off. When I was use the FastTrak in San Diego the S55 would ping at every reader. Not with the Uniden. The range is fantastic and the unit itself, actually looks cool (never thought of my S55 that way nor does it matter).

No offense but S55 is old POS that should be priced at around $70 or less

I have a Max360 and a DFR7 and my dfr is usually quieter than my 360.
