This is a great all around photography lens. To use the full potential of this lens, recommend mounting this on a full frame camera. Offer valid through March 25, 2017 or while supplies last. - Discombobulated

Canon's sale on refurbished products just got better this week.

The Refurbished 24-105 USM is the lowest I've seen on Canon's website.

Merchandise:$799.99
Discounts: -$260.00
Total: $539.99

Refurbished products bought from Canon come with a 1 yr warranty.

This is a good versatile lens, however you should know that it only transmits t5.1 stops of light... that's almost a full stop. Version II of this lens improved upon this.

there are several 50mm 1.8 out there. DON'T buy the first or second edition. either buy the 50mm 1.8 STM from canon, or if money is a concern, yongnuo makes a cheap copy that's surprisingly good.

I would be very, very careful with the 50mm f/1.4. I have had a couple of them and in my experience they've been finicky, breakage-prone lenses. They're certainly heftier than the f/1.8 III but the build quality is anything but "significant;" they just feel more expensive. At this point, I have two f/1.4s that have bought the dust - one because of the common focus mechanism failure issue, and another one because of significant and worsening coma issues [imgur.com]. While the first was replaced under warranty, the second lens is sitting in a box somewhere because it'd cost more to repair it than I could sell it for. I would really recommend (particularly if he's using a crop sensor) the f/1.8 28mm. The lens is a gem and has been my go to on my 650D.

That's the correct lens. You can often get it refurb for less, or around the holidays, get it new for ~$95. BUT: if you're willing to put up with a lot of noise (i.e.: you're going to use it only for photos, not videos, or if you do use it for videos, use it with a mic), I agree with Petapixel [petapixel.com] that the Yongnuo clone produces images that are sharper, exhibit less vignetting and chromatic aberration, and the lens is half the price of the Canon new from Amazon or B&H. And honestly, if you'd like to do the bokeh look, as your comments suggest, then yeah, the Yongnuo's seven-bladed aperture produces prettier defocus.

A kit lens, but a very nice one - very sharp. This price is better than most used ones!

Is it better than the sigma art equivalent?

Arguably one of the best all-around L lenses Canon makes and yes, you need more light or tripod.

You can argue on that day or night but I personally prefer Art.

That's a great price for an L. Too bad I don't have a full frame.

Didn't the white box version of this lens go for $500 new? Might have been gray market but was new and there was no tax (Canon charges tax for me).
