Spend the extra money (not much) for the 65. The bezels are lower quality on the 60.

Also, reading through reviews on Amazon, I learned that Samsung is placing advertisements that YOU CANNOT TURN OFF without disabling the internet. This makes me not want to ever buy from Samsung again.

Edit 1: Even if the AD is very small, it's still obnoxious that Samsung is forcing ads on you - after paying a premium amount for the TV.

Edit 2: The bezels are of lower quality (and ugly) on the 60, compared to the other models.

the ads are a single box on the home bar, at the bottom of the screen when you're changing inputs/settings... nothing more. it's really not an issue at all.

i bought a 55'' with my EPP/Discover during the sales, very nice looking TV with a great picture, but the Tizen smart OS sucks. it locks up using Netflix and Emby quite a lot, have to hardboot the TV. i'll be using my XB1S/Roku from now on... the smart functions in these TVs still suck.

size is what it is, buy the biggest you can fit in your area, in your budget. i have an 82'' in my living room, but the family room wall i wanted the TV on was only big enough for a 55''.

What does "the bezels are lower quality on the 60" mean?

The screen is the glass part that shows an image. The bezel is the part that acts as the trim around the screen. Some KS8000 have issues where the bezel comes unglued in a corner.

This TV is basically discounted everywhere right now for this price. It is $27 less at costco if:

You want a gunmetal bezel instead of chrome
Want Costco's Return policy.
Want an $89 square trade 3 year warranty.

I actually know what a bezel is, but why would the bezel on the 60" be any worse (or better) than the one on the 65"?

I can't comment on if the bezel is "worse" (or better) than the 65", but I do know that it has been stated that the 60ks8000 has a thicker bezel than the 65/55" models, so it doesn't have quite as much of an "edgeless" look to it.

Also word on the street is that the 60ks8000 uses a different panel than the other models (although I think it is still VA based, not IPS).. supposedly the panel isn't produced by Samsung themselves.

I dont see much difference in the 60 and 65

I think it is a comparable deal to the one posted earlier this month for the 55" variety of this series for $900 at Fry's (for demo and open box). I think Samsung is about to discontinue the 60" version - best buy is selling the 55" for the same price as 60". I got one myself.

Do you have any sources about this? this is very concerning to me cause I was about to buy this 60" variant of the KS8000. Thanks

The 60in panel is made by sharp...Google Samsung panel lottery, it is pretty well documented...With that being said, rting did a comparison test of the 3 different panels being used on the ks8000 series, the difference is minimal
