I personally went with the Vizio P75 on Black Friday for $1000 less. But I know there are a lot of Samsung 'fanboys' out there. If you can live without DolbyVision HDR (even though it's arguably currently winning the HDR standards war), and insist on overpaying for a Samsung, at least you can be satisfied in the knowledge you didn't overpay as much as most suckers did. Nonetheless, it is an excellent TV. And as far as I know, the cheapest price from an authorized dealer for this 75" model. According to Rtings, this 2016 version is better than the 2017 Q7 model replacing it. Not sure of Buydig's tax policy.

OP can you possibly do a worse job trying to sell this as a deal?

I got a good laugh from your description.

@ShoaibS. At this price, I'd go for this model over the Sony XBR900E. That Sony won't include Dolby Vision (DV) either. Only the Z series and the 930/940E will receive a DV FW update from what I understand. And I can't see any justifiable reason to pay $5999 for the 2017 Q7 (the 2017 version of this model from Samsung) given the performance gain is negligible (if it even exists--early reviews have suggested the Q7 is inferior in some ways to the KS9000) when this can be had for $3799.

I might prefer the Sony 940D to this model. Better blacks and similar color/brightness performance (and about the same price--also no DV). But different strokes. At this price I have no issue with it. It's a great TV. @Exclusive28 -- I'm not anti-Samsung. I'm anti-Samsung prices given negligible (and sometimes inferior) performance. It's absurd this TV stayed around $5-$6k most of last year when the Sony and the Vizio P75 (which is admittedly weaker overall, but does have the stellar blacks and Dolby Vision--and a price tag of under $3k since about Black Friday) could be had for thousands less. No justification for it, imho. Unless you're just so tied into the Samsung ecosystem you can't imagine absorbing the "switching" costs. Plus, it was an (admittedly poor) attempt at humor. No need to take offense. I like Samsung products--they're just overpriced. In almost all cases across product lines, reasonable alternatives can be had at far better value propositions. But that's just my $0.02.

How would you rate this to the XBR 900E series being offered by Sony for 4499 at BB or the Samsung 9000 series for 4499 at Costco - with 7 years warranty.

We have to deal with bullshit Manufacturer fan boy comments already.. Do we really need them in the Details OP? To each their own. The Details field isn't there for you to feel superior for liking a certain brand.
