$1249.99 for the same model at Lenovo.

Costco provides a 4-year warranty when you use your Costco Citi Visa card. That alone is probably worth about $100.

Note that the $1249.99 at Lenovo is the "web price" - which is kind of like going to a car dealership and paying MSRP.

Almost all Lenovo's are discounted off the web price - it's just that these are new systems that they don't quite have fully in stock yet, so they don't have any discounts yet.

You should start seeing these discounted on the Lenovo site within 3-4 weeks max I'd say.

No not really. Even the GTX 1060 GB struggles to do ultra on 1080p on older games like Borderlands 2. Granted it's ultra capabilities vary from game to game. But 1050ti is a solid budget card, comparable to the 970m.

This is the question I ask myself every time I see one of these deals come up.
If I'm going to look at this laptop for the next 3 years, don't I want a nice screen?
But then I read about how much better 1050 ti is.
Ugh.

Got a link to the 960m with 4k?

Does anyone know how Costco's warranty works. Do you go through Costco or Lenovo?

Also does anyone know if this device is reliable compared to other Lenovos?

Oh yeah. Coupon code is dead on that, so that one is also $1000.

Apologies, I am an engineer so I like numbers. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net...5B%5D=3176

G3Dmark

960m 2030
970m 4012 +98% (vs 960m)
1050Ti 5834 +187% (vs 960m) +45% (vs 970m)

The 1050Ti is a lot faster. YMMV will vary since there are lots of things that effect FPS.

Edit: I noticed why the numbers are so different; the link you mention is for non-mobile versions e.g. 960 not 960m. For the last gen the mobile were much lower performance vs the desktop; for the current gen the mobile and desktop are almost the same.

Hence the current gen 10xx mobiles (like in this thread) are a big step up.
