It's back. Great price for a great camera. It is grey market so you won't get the 1 yr US Canon warranty but it does come with 1 yr seller warranty

$10 cheaper than last time for WIW and I can attest that you can in fact register this on canonusa.com still. Seller appears to provide a 1yr warranty but I can't speak on how that is.

Bought one when it was $2799. Mine was a Singapore version. Only problem was that the charger came with a British type plug. I bought a new cable with a US plug on Amazon for about $7.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/produ...UTF8&psc=1

I came from a 5DII. Huge difference. Besides family stuff, I take the occasional wedding and similar occasions. I have to say that compared to the 5DII, I went from about 15% out of focus shots to maybe 1% out of focus in dimly lit areas. Very impressive.
I used to use ISO 800 as a max limit, with the 5DIV I can easily go to 1600 and barely do any post process noise reduction, and easily higher and still have no real noise issues.
Also, call me cheap, but I love being able to use SD cards. CF are getting ridiculously expensive.

Anyway, as you can tell, I'm pretty happy with mine...

Yes, it really is an impressive camera. I shoot weddings professionally (both photo and video) and will be shooting my first one with it tomorrow. The touch screen auto focus for video is a game changer for me. Rack focusing will be sooooo much easier. I bought a new camera off someone on Craigslist for $3k last week. Wished this deal came up sooner but I just bought a second one so at least I got a deal on one!

Professional just means that it's their livelihood, doesn't meant that they're a photographer for the rich and famous.

Register doesn't mean you get the warranty, right?

No you do not get the warranty (but you get the seller's 1yr warranty) not sure how thorough that is. But being able to register it means Canon will service it for repairs. I have a few tamron lenses one of which is grey market and that one they wont register or even touch for repairs/calibration. Luckily it hasnt needed to but it is on year 4 and Tamron offer 6 years.. FWIW

Interesting. I actually have to say I like the non US version better. You don't have to plug it directly into an outlet but can place it a foot away or so. On the other hand, it adds more bulk. I guess it's a toss up.

I've purchased many things off Craigslist for my business. Professional Camera equipment holds value and is built to last many years (even decades if we are talking about lenses), so why not buy used or find a deal to save money? In the 7 years I've been doing this, never had any issues with my second hand equipment. Being frugal as a business person is smart.

If anything, wouldn't a professional be able to better discern between good and bad purchases on Craigslist?

Your logic doesn't map, sorry.

Witty comment though Roll Eyes (Sarcastic).

i'm not partial to Canon at all, but it's the best wedding camera money can buy right now (not counting the big silly bodies like the d5/1dx)
