Adorama has the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 Micro Four Thirds 4K camera kit with 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS G Lens and $100 Adorama Gift Card for $997.99. Temporarily on backorder, but available to order.

https://www.adorama.com/ipcdmcg85kgc.html

This is the successor to the G7 camera that hit front page yesterday, with better build quality/weather sealing, no AA filter on the sensor, and in-body 5-axis image stabilization. It was released in October 2016 and is on backorder at most retailers. It is the poor man's GH4/GH5.

If purchased by 3/31/17, Panasonic will triple the warranty period from 1 year to 3 years after registration.

This is the best deal since it's release in November.

Before the inevitable "this or the a6300" question, here's some pros and cons:

G85:
-The kit lens is actually really good at 12mm, rated higher than the 12-35mm at 2.8
-Dual IS - Here's a comparison against the A7 with a steadyshot lens (would be similar to a6300) at timestamp 9:47 https://youtu.be/XOqDYsLQweo?t=9m47s
-Better lens selection

a6300:
-Better in low light by about a stop
-Better AF based on multiple tests I've seen on youtube
-not a wide selection of e-mount lenses, but you can use fe-mount (full frame)

Currently backordered at Adorama. I ordered one at B&H before this was listed -- B&H has it in stock but won't match the offer.

Order by 3/31 to qualify for Panasonic's offer to increase the 1-year warranty to three.

Seriously considering buying this and selling my 80D. I miss the 4K video from my G7 as well as portability.

I have been reading some reviews....G85 has a lot of nice features. Would like to see a bit more of a discount, but is really pretty new.

I bought this grey market for $900. It is mind blowing. I'm using some vintage Canon FD lenses with focal reducer, mmmm the 50mm f1.8 is soooo creamy and crisp.

Stock lens is great, dual ibis and most of my professional videographers ask if I was shooting from a tripod.

The low light is out of this world. Better than any canon I've ever owned.

Great find OP! I wouldn't necessarily say it's the poor man's GH5, this is still a very solid camera

Bought this from Ritz Camera (Amazon) on 3/12 for the same price. Excellent camera, cannot say enough great things about it. Wish I could have gotten the $100 gift card as I am gunning for the 25mm F1.7!

I've been watching the G85 for the past week since I discovered Panasonic is running the free 3 year warranty deal. It's been out of stock at Adorama, Amazon, and B&H for the past week (B&H had it in stock for about a day and it quickly sold out).

The primary listing for the G85 on Adorama shows that they are expecting new stock in the next few days (https://www.adorama.com/ipcdmcg85k.html), so hopefully the orders of the G85 with the $100 gift card will ship soon.

Also:
- Sony a6300 with video has possible overheating issue and 30 minute record limit
- Panasonic G85 doesn't overheat, 4K video is limited only by card space and available power/with optional battery grip for extra battery.

Sony is probably a better stills camera, Panasonic a more reliable video camera.

btw, G85 you can still stabilize any lens with IBIS/in-body image stabilization for video and stills without a compatible "Dual IS" lens which provides extra stabilization but not necessary to get a stable image.

Solid deal for the camera. It is the lowest it's been since it came out, so I'm in.
