Wow. This is a SD!

I bought a refurbished one (the art version) for $64.95 2 weeks ago from Amazon! Very happy with it.

Wanted to get more precision with photoshopping pictures. Did a bunch of research. Started from scratch because I was clueless:

Wacom is the brand to get if you want a tablet. Other companies are cheaper but not as good.

Wacom a few years back replaced the Bamboo line (budget line) with Intuos, then renamed the actual Intuos (professional line) to Intuos Pro. Bamboo is now also called One (CTL471) but it seems like the lowest entry level with poor quality and driver/lag issues.

I looked into the Wacom Intuos Draw [CTL490DW (White) or CTL490DB (Blue)] which has the same specs [1024 levels of pressure sensitivity and a resolution of 2540 lines per inch (1000 lines/cm)] but no multi-touch. Meaning you cannot use your finger, only the pen. Multi-touch is good because it turns off when the pen is used, so you rest your hand on the tablet when using the pen without issue.

The CTL490 is not that much cheaper, doesn't have multi-touch and is not as good looking as the CTH490. Note that CTL is pen only, CTH is pen and multi-touch.

And to crib a Q&A from Amazon:
Quote :
Whats the difference between the comic, art and photo selection?

Answer: All three contain the same Intuos Tablet but have differing programs and packages. The Comic version has Clip Studio Paint Pro and Anime Studio software, online tutorials, and 10 free comic book copies with a purchase of 25 copies. The Art version comes with Corel Painter Essentials drawing and painting software, online tutorials, a free 8" × 10" metal photo print, and an 8" × 8" Shutterfly Photo Album. Finally, the Photo version has Shutterfly Photo Album, a Horizon Canvas Print, and photo editing software (Mac: Macphun Creative Kit and Corel AfterShot Pro software download.
USB cable (it's a mini B cable) is removable but the opening for the cable in the tablet is rather small.
Has Multi-Touch support.

I would also check out the Huion H610. I was looking for a decent tablet and feel Wacom is overpriced now compared to Huion. Then Pen and everything else feels just as good quality wise and price wise is better.

obviously not the same ballpark as a cintiq though or the $200 wacoms. but for under $100 I think Huion is the company to go with.

Weird...I saw the deal was dead but it still discounted for me when I put in my cart. So I picked up one to try. I wanted a smaller Wacom to try.

I looked into Huion tablets and was seriously tempted because I think the regular price for an entry level Wacom is too high.

But industry leaders like Wacom either (i) jack up the price and lower quality because they can rely on the goodwill behind their name OR (ii) they are an industry leader because they make the best product. With Wacom it seems to be (ii).

I've no doubt that for some ppl a Huion tablet will be fine. But there is a greater risk of driver problems, lag or quality control issues.

That's why I went with a refurbished (and cheaper) Wacom.

I went with the same one as the OP (but the art version) -
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1
As mentioned in my prior post, the hardware is the same, just the software is different.

So you should get the non-refurbished one from Walmart that someone else linked to in this thread.

The deal is back,
It looks like Amazon programmed their prices to match Walmart's automatically.
So typically if you find a good price on either site, it would be same price on the other.
