My kids have this, its is very well constructed. Hape does a great job with quality. We're a bit crunchy granola as far as gender roles and liked that it wasn't iridescent pink like all the others. Everything is wooden as opposed to plastic. However, if your kids are expecting a 6 foot dreamhouse that fits barbies or a classical dollhouse with individual shingles this is not it.

This seems much cheaper than it should normally cost - some may quibble with the quality of this item, but it's hard to argue that it's not a good price for what you get based on CCC?

My kid has this, it's alright. Doesn't come with any people so you have to buy them and I don't know why but I thought it was odd you have to order a specific skin color for the people, i.e. all white, black, asian, but no hispanics (??) etc.. I guess it's cool or whatever if you want that but why not just make them wooden people and be done with it?

People are extra sensitive about such things right now. Hopefully it will pass before your kid (who doesn't see race) gets too old.

That's kind of what I mean. Just make them wood people and be done with it.

My wife felt kinda bad or whatever about just getting her the white family (I don't know why but whatever) so we ended up with different sets to mix/match. LMAO

Who knows, maybe that is their plan. Make the parents who are sensitive about it spend more $ than they need to!

Yeah, good point. Why can't a little boy play with a house like this imagining people in it doimg things? Or thinking about the layout of a house or the purpose of furniture and decor? Like it's The Sims or something - that could be fun for a boy and for the parents to witness too. The baby boomer generation with its pink and blue gender roles was so effed up man.

It seems that easily for my daughter to put them together. The part of rooms is also imcomplete.
