For a video or a game, you probably won't see the difference between 1440p and 4K at this screen size. For me, it's about having space for 4 1080P windows at once. So many programs and web pages are designed to work best at 1080P since that's such a common resolution. Being able to snap my email to one corner, my browser into another, and two other applications to the other corners without having to scroll around in those windows is a game-changer. Having used this monitor for a few months at work, I'm very close to buying a 4K monitor to use at home. I'm not even considering 1440P because having the 4 "full-size" windows is so much of the value proposition of a high-res monitor.

There is a huge difference between 1440p and 4K at 27"

Seems like a nice deal for a 4K 60fps, VESA, IPS monitor!

But is there a noticeable difference at 27" between 4K and 1440p?

I can't speak to using this for gaming, but I've been using one at work for a few months and it's great for productivity.

For anyone curious about the product code versus what's sold elsewhere, this is billed as a Newegg Exclusive. My understanding is it's the exact same everything as the other 27UD58P models, but with a different stand. My version has the flimsy tilt-only stand, which is a little wobbly. I expect that the stand included with this one is more stable, and has the added benefits of height and orientation adjustments.

free sync at 60hz, sounds like a joke to me
actually, free g tech works best when the FPS is lower. when you're pushing 200+ frames then screen tearing is significantly less noticeable even without free or g

27" is IMO too small for 4K. I've got a 27" 4K and while it's nice to tile multiple windows, text is really small and zooming in defeats the purpose of having 4 windows open at once.

Ordered 2 last night for a dual monitor setup. Shoprunner 2-day shipping shows delivery on Friday.

Agreed on the model # difference. These should be better stands...

It's $349 at Newegg's EBay site and some of us have the 10% EBay bucks offer that can be activated to make it a little cheaper if that's factored in.
