samsung and sony do not use this method fyi, so their 240 panels are actually 240hz panels rather than faux 240 hz. People are under the impression LG tvs advertised at 240hz such as the 7600 is...

Yes most 2D and 3D TVs have this type of implementation, giving them different proprietary technology brands, but this is common amongst the TV providers, not just LG.
