Just thought I should chime in to say that I picked up this drive from B&H yesterday and the package says 32MB Cache. The back of the box says SATA Hard Drive (doesn't specify I, II, or III).

I have a 750GB Hitachi that is 7mm, I believe they make a 1TB 7mm as well. EDIT: Apologies, it is 9.3MM, not 7MM, you are right.

The only link you provided that I see states SATA III is the jr.com link (Amazon link is also sold by JR). I just checked the retail box and there is no indication. It simply states SATA. But...

Can't say for sure but this might be another misprint on hard drive specs. If you google the exact model number of the item you will find the same drive with a sata III 6gb/s connection. ...

It's a mechanical drive. SATA I is faster than most mechanical drive and SATA II is faster than any mechanical drive. SATA II interface for this drive is fine. It would not benefit from a SATA III...
