I would do a factory reset first and see if that resolves it. If it doesn't, you need to be careful about rooting the phone if there is a good possibility you will need to exchange it.

What the hell, Best Buy has a 14 day return period and charges $35 to return an item. What if it's defective and you don't want it anymore? They still charge the fee?
