Thanks to all who offered advice on the brush very brushless, circular saw, and going generator if off grid. As is often the case when a question is asked, a small voice is already giving hints...

I have Dewalt, Makita and Bosch corded tools. The other poster had it right, much more power with corded tools. When I need to be away from electricity, I use an old pure sine wave inverter/battery,...

I'll agree that brushless isn't needed for the average DIYer but it does offer a few benfits. Brushless vs Brushed Pros - Higher power/torque for the same size motor - Longer runtimes and runs...

the brushed tools are great, and you will use them for years. Brushes wear out, as a homeowner you will never see it happen and they are usually the easiest part to replace. brushless is new and...

I got the 2.0Ah from the review/comments on the HD site. This is even worse if it indeed ships with 1.5Ah batteries! :(

Correction. The kit comes with 1.5Ah batteries.

Agreed. You can definitely find some amazing prices on basic things like clamps, sawhorses, etc. that HD, Lowes, etc. can't come close to in price. If you are willing to do a little research on what...

At best, this is "meh" deal assuming that you really looking for all these tools. None of the tools are brushless, bottom of the barrel drill and just 1.5AH batteries plus tax on top of the price.

Does anyone know if this is generally 150? Not sure if it's a marketing ploy http://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-20-Volt-MAX-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Brushless-Compact-Drill-Driver-DCD777C2/207105622

Sheesh, watching for a good sale is like the stock market. You wait for a good stock at the right price and hope you get the best. I bought another set last month. I wish I waited for this one.

My concern exactly. This set comes with 2.0Ah batteries. Wish the set with larger batteries would go on sale.

I wouldn't buy power tools from HF but their hand tools are definitely a value.

Agreed, but for home repair and short jobs, the hammer drill is an all-purpose work-horse.

If you need to do a lot of concrete drilling, a hammerdrill is not the ideal tool for the job. You need a proper rotary hammer for the best results.
