I don't have this set, but own smaller Craftsman sets with a lot of the same bits. They're good all around bits. I would have purchased 1/2" bits if they were the same price, but to comment on the...

I suggest a table saw for dados. The only time I use a router for dados is when I have really long boards that are unwieldy on the table saw.

Was able to get $10 off by signing up with the Craftsman club. Had to show the coupon to the sales associate as I couldn't apply in online. I got the Bosch 1617 router deal a few weeks back. ...

If you get this good router - don't waste your money buying the craftsman 1/4" bits. Get the 1/2" bits. Btw - I bought a similar set from Skil and paid only $35. Pretty much they are throw away bits.

Can anyone comment on the differences between this set and the SKIL 30pc set that sometimes goes on sale at Lowe's? https://m.lowes.com/pd/Skil-30-Piece-Router-Bit-Set/1059237

They sell these by the set because they are real cheap to produce in mass quantities. While it's true that you will likely only use between 5 and 10 bits, if you went to purchase 10 bits...

Sure, if you have a nice sharp bit and a powerful enough router to do it one pass, you'll save some wear on the bit as long as you don't overheat it.

Just wondering about the shallow cut logic - When you cut shallow dado cuts you are only using the top part of the bit. When you make a deep cuts you're using the entire blade on the bit. Wouldn't it...
