No it does not. One has to additionally press the side key. It is very cumbersome

Same issue for me - called Verizon to activate my unlocked S8 and they said it won't work, I'll get a SIM card error. Is there a workaround?

I thought it was an OS thing due to the removal of some app certificate (?) that Foxfi creates to fool the carrier. Have you tested the app on an unlocked S8 with VZW?

Her old phone was an S4 which I've rebuilt (screen, mobo, etc) a few times over the past 4 years so yeah the S8+ is a HUGE upgrade for her. The biggest issue with the S4 became battery life......

Will work by virtue of being unlocked. Tried this, Moto z and LG v20. Without carrier check for subscription, you're good to go.
