Because this seller paid slickdeals staff to post it as a deal even though it isn't a deal. SD used to be a community contributed site. Now it is almost entirely just an advertising site.

Probably not plugged in properly, depending on the design of the adapter and the design of the car the case can get in the way. Take a look at your OBD port, the connector is usually just clipped in...

Got one in mail from a former deal. Haven't had time to play with it yet. Plugged it into my Honda and it doesn't go all the way in and stays in the way of driving. Isn't recognized by Torque pro app...
