The car he regularly rides in, he uses the graco nautilus which is forward facing and does have the harness straps. He's over 30lbs. When we use different cars, they don't always have the anchors....

This seat is cheap for car that you will rarely use. Has no side support if child falls asleep they can't keep themselves upright

No, but you can ship it to where ever you are going to (hotel, friends) and it is cheaper than having to rent one for $10/day.

Yes in that it'll most likely fit if you move your seat further back and the adjust your steering wheel. Of note, it didn't help me reach the pedals as the seat raised me higher away from them.
