This thread is the first I’ve heard this game had any political element and that sales suffered because of it.
This game suffered because it was subpar in graphics, animation, writing, etc.

The best thing you can do is vote with your wallet. Don't buy it, even for $5. Lots of great options out there that don't have "OMG I'M TRAAAANS" in the dialogue.
