D65 has ni-cad batteries.... Li-po is the future and the M5 has them which makes me more for the M5. I believe the 980 was a bit more than the M5 though?

So what you are saying is the only difference is on a low pile carpet. That midpile and hardwood comparisons are almost identical... Plus, I do not think people get that much fine objects in there...
