That's not surprising as this is VG10, although it is supposed to be more resistant to chipping than blue series or white series, is still prone to it. Victorinox is straight high carbon stainless...

Honestly, I have both Victorinox 6" and Wustof G 8". I have to tell u Wustof stay sharper for much longer. I donno if it's cuz the blade is thicker or what, it jsut does.

You shouldn't if your knife is sharp, but I doubt your average person keeps their knives sharp enough. Even if you do, serrated knives still have their place.
