I have this version as well. I have gotten use to disabling the alarm every Friday morning and enabling it again on Sunday. Not ideal, but it works.
The model I have does not have a battery...

there are mutliple similar ones in the $30 range that improve on this design...they have battery backup, they have nature sounds instead of the beep alarm, you can disable the alarm unlike on this...

I did too. Then I got the sunrise one. Holy hell does it work. Completely different experience to the hue lights. I actually feel like a damn moron for not getting it months ago.
