A lot of video games have shut down their servers with no patches to enable direct connections or any other way to play them. There haven't been many lawsuits from what I've seen.

it has happened before. easiest is lots of video games, especially the multiplayer ones. They probably should have stuck with an announcement of turning off the servers, and people wouldn't freak...

No, this was a device that allowed you to use your phone as a remote instead of a traditional harmony remote. All Harmony remotes will still operate fine. This has nothing to do with them.
