80 Plus ratings are not an indicator of build quality. There are plenty of garbage Gold rated PSUs out there.

They have some Raidmax gold rates PSUs at Frys for like $35! I’m sure they won’t be good but they’re gold rated!

Gold is the standard in PSUs in my opinion. We spend way too much money on our builds to risk them by cheaping out on a PSU.
