It's not going to do D cells, the wells are not deep enough to hold D cells. Now with some ingenuity you can make it work, but for regular use it is a pain in the ass.
just like your mom.. sorry... had to. I've had this charger for a while and it's not perfect by any means but it has more functionality than comparable chargers at this price point. It senses...

I am interested in the D cell charging capability as well, if anyone knows for sure? ehh, actually I think paying an extra $9 for the digital display of the D2 is worth it anyway.

Sorry for the bad question but will these charge eneloop batteries. I bought a charger it doesn't fully charge the eneloop batteries.

How does this compare to Xtar VC2? I have the Xtar VC4 and it's great. It charges slower than the others but charging rapidly is actually bad for the batteries and shorten its lifespan

Can confirm the D4 I have is fantastic. I mean, it's not a legit screen it's still just got the pre-laid out things that just light up, but overall I love it. I wanted to get the car adapter for it...

You can use any brand of rechargeable battery as long as it is one of the sizes and chemistries mentioned in the specs.
