Yes, you can play the game at 2x or 4x speed to make travel, battles, etc. less...tedious. Square inserted that function in a few other remasters as well.

This is what I did, sale price + 20% coupon, along with FFVII, FFIX, and FF X-X2. Then I traded in my physical copy of FF X-X2 to Amazon for $4.50.
