Most of the deals (great or not) comes from Shills or New Members. If you look at the FP, large amount of those deals came from Newbies, Rep Wholes, or Shills. Older members have hoarded enough crap...

There is a short delay when the deal is posted and when you get your alerts. This could be as little as 5min - 30min depending on server/network load and the platform (mobile, desktop, email)....
