Definitely, I am only starting to dip my toe into the POE camera world and it's turning out to be far more complex than I would have imagined, and I only need three cameras.

Yeah of course, it still comes down to planning like in any deployment. Odds are not many people deploying 24 cameras like that on this switch I would hope. Probably step up to the 500 watt, or...

It depends on the camera. One of the outdoor ones I have with 20x optical zoom consumes 18W.

I'm really interested in the discussion here. I'm totally sold on swapping out my other switches for Unifi, but I can't seem to grasp to upcharge for POE. Practically all of my Ubiquiti gear came...

Would like some more info on the craze as well. I've tried the demo but I ended up choosing sophos xg to the netgear managed switch I already had.

Thanks for the heads up. I've got plenty of enterprise-level 24 & 48-port switches of both the managed and unmanaged variety to get me by until I can find a solid deal on the Unifi switch I want.

For my use, I wish they would make a 48-port rack mountable switch with 16 of them being PoE @ 150w available. That would be my ideal switch. I realize that's odd requirements (although I doubt I'm...

It works out to about 10 Watts/port if use all 24 for POE. An AP Pro uses 7-8 Watts, poe cams ive seen use about 4.5-7.5 Watts. I don’t think many of the other 24 ports, like a previously mentioned...

You can only use up to half the ports for POE.. same as most any POE switch. Do the power math.

Well, this ended up being a much better deal! I bought the one that was listed by OP and then I just got an email from NewEgg w/ a specific coupon code for the non-POE version of this switch. Ended...

It's the unifi. If you want it, it's worth it. If you don't then you are correct, there's no need for the higher price.

Man this is overpriced for what it is, when a highly reviewed netgear managed switch is going for $250 currently with the only difference being 190W compared to 250W which to me is not worth the...

Good catch. I didn't go that far with them, looks like out of stock currently as well which seems to be a trend with a lot of the main distribution sellers that aren't B&H. I won't tell anyone...
