How long ago? Most posts I see are claiming blues out of these but I might jump on it if there’s a chance for red or HGST. Only thing I hate about my current HGSTs is they are loud.

either one will work, you just may have to reformat as exFAT, since these come NTFS

How is it that these are cheaper than internal drives? Thinking of just getting this for the hard drive for my NAS. Then using the external as a drive enclosure, when needed.

the Seagate likely has a Barrcuda Pro enterprise drive which is just fine and might be better a Red.

That's not universally true and only will confuse people. Many of the white label drives are actually red drives, that WD slapped on (presumably) to counter the rumor you can get reds out of these....
