The newer model of the impact driver is a 3 speed, unless all you do is drive lag bolts and deck screws that is a very useful feature.

I have owned both this and now the newer models, the light and speed switch alone are worth the additional costs, if you use these tools for a living or heavily as a hobby, pick the newer models.
