I watched Ender's Game (4K HDR) from VUDU and the blacks were a little crushed using the settings I posted previously. I played around in the menus and noticed if I switched the HDMI range from...

Just an update for me I guess. I’m returning this. Got an email from Best Buy for 10% back in rewards so that will essentially make the Epson 3700 $900. The picture is too close on the 4k viewsonic...

Tested the 727 and I was able to produce a way better picture than the Optoma 131 1080p that I was upgrading from. This surprised me because It was also better than a Vivitek HK2288 I purchased and...

Not blown away by 727 yet. Havent tweaked the settings. Defenite improvement over my Mitsubishi hc4000 1080p on Colors and Brightness. Not sure if its worth a $1100 upgrade.

I will try those settings too as I just cant get color calibration correct. Whites and reds are overpowering.

In the same boat here. I feel like it’s a low end 4k vs a high end 1080p. So far in my testing the 4k isn’t as “stunning” as compared to the 1080p of the 3700. Their about the same

Thanks! I’ll try your calibration settings and report back. I have had the two side by side (3700 & viewsonic) and while the Epson is clearly brighter and more vivid the 4k vs 1080p aspect is almost...

I put the 747 through some paces this weekend. Compared to the HT2550, the default calibration is much too bright for cinema use. The HT2550 was pretty spot on with factory defaults out of the box. ...

The whites I find crush everything else. I can't find a good calibration yet and the contrast is just ok. I don't know if I watch enough 4k to make it worthwhile when I can jump up to a significantly...

Did you pick up the 3700? I am thinking I'm gonna pick it up and return this. I would happily sell the 747 to someone who missed out. No Mark up it would be the same price I paid instead of returning...

Compared to the Epson 3700, Epson 2100. I think I got fairly used to the 3lcd technology vs DLP. The colors POP, and are much more defined & bright. A comparable difference would be OLED vs LED

Interesting colors being dull is definitely not what I was seeing.Maybe in comparison to the white? I do believe the white is overpowering at times. I think my biggest gripe is contrast. If you go...

I’ve tried 4k content on my Kodi box, YouTube videos, and Netflix. The 4k content does look good, but the general colors just seem very dull and dark. Lol I’m going to give the 3700 another try but I...

Usually their sales go Sun - Sat I think. The brightness of this projector is violent at times. I mean it is that incredibly bright. It is light years better than my Epson 2045 but that wouldnt take...

I had the 3700, returned it for this. All content is “meh”, and from what I remember this compared to the 3700 seems “dull”. Anyone know how much longer BestBuy has the sale on the 3700?

I agree here if you are just watching 1080p content then the 3700 will be better. It has a better lens the 3lcd I think is better in this case as well especially when needing light output. 3LCD...
